Day 1

Gaudí and Eixample

The first day is dedicated to Barcelona's most famous architecture. You start at the Sagrada Família and then head towards Passeig de Gràcia, where several of Gaudí's famous buildings are close together. Because the program largely takes place in Eixample, there is plenty of time for lunch, breaks and a relaxing evening.

Start at the Sagrada Família

Start the day at the Sagrada Família, when you still have all the time and energy to view the basilica quietly. Book a time slot in advance so that you are not dependent on availability on the day itself. After your visit, take some time to view the building from the surrounding squares.

Through Eixample to Passeig de Gràcia

After the visit, head towards Passeig de Gràcia. You can get there quickly by metro, but those who like to walk can also explore the Eixample street grid on foot. Along the way you will get a good idea of ​​the wide avenues, characteristic building blocks and modernist facades of the district.

Lunch in Eixample

Take your time for lunch before continuing with the famous buildings of Passeig de Gràcia. Around the boulevard and in the side streets you will find both simple lunch shops and more extensive restaurants. Preferably choose a spot slightly outside the busiest part of the boulevard.

La Pedrera and Casa Batllo

Stroll along Passeig de Gràcia La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. Both buildings are special, but two extensive interior visits in a row can become intensive and expensive. Therefore, preferably choose one building to view from the inside and admire the other from the outside.

End the day relaxed

After the architectural walk you can do some shopping, find a terrace or quietly return to your accommodation. Consciously keep the evening flexible. The next two days again contain many walking moments.

Day 2

The old town, El Born and Barceloneta

On the second day you will discover the historic heart of Barcelona. You'll start around La Rambla and La Boqueria, then wander through the streets of the Gothic Quarter and El Born, ending towards the port and Barceloneta.

Start at La Boqueria and La Rambla

Start the day around La Rambla and visit La Boqueria before it gets at its busiest. Take a leisurely stroll along the market stalls and use your visit mainly to experience the atmosphere. Please note that the market is popular and touristy.

Wander through the Gothic Quarter

From La Rambla, head down the narrow streets Barri Gotic in. Stroll past squares, historic facades and the cathedral area. In this neighbourhood it is not necessary to record every street in advance; part of the experience is just wandering around quietly.

Lunch and walking in El Born

Walk from Barri Gòtic towards El Born and find a place for lunch there. The district combines historic streets with small shops, cafes and cultural attractions. After lunch, take time for a quiet walk.

Via Port Vell to Barceloneta

Walk from El Born towards Port Vell and follow the route along the water to Barceloneta. After the narrow streets of the old town, this part of the route feels spacious and open. Along the way you can take a break at the harbor or continue to the beach.

End at the sea

End the day at Barceloneta. Take a walk along the beach, find a terrace or stay nearby for dinner. In the warmer months this is also a nice place to take a longer break.

Day 3

Park Güell, Gràcia and Montjuïc

The last day combines two different sides of Barcelona. You'll start among the colorful architecture of Park Güell and the streets of Gràcia. Later in the day, head to Montjuïc for gardens, culture and city views.

9:00–11:30 am

Start early at Park Güell

Visit Park Güell preferably in the morning. It is often more pleasant to walk through the monumental part and view the famous mosaics, architecture and viewpoints. Reserve a suitable entrance time in advance.

11:30 AM–2:00 PM

Walk and have lunch in Gràcia

After Park Güell, head towards Gràcia. This district has a smaller character than the centre and is known for its squares, local shops and relaxed atmosphere. Use this part of the day for a quiet walk and an extensive lunch.

Use the last evening for a relaxing end to the trip. Stay around Montjuïc and Plaça d'Espanya or return to a neighbourhood you liked during the past few days. Don't plan a strict program anymore, so that there is room for a last dinner or walk.
